Freelance Producer/ Curator
Urban Campfire (UC) is a celebrated biannual art exhibition held in April and October at the Neighbourhood Justice Centre. UC facilitates drop-in workshops in Yarra with local artists, including professional, emerging, students and community art groups.
It showcases the work of diverse Yarra-based artists including those with experiences of the justice system, local school students, residents of Yarra’s public housing estate rough-sleepers, local First Nations artists and residents of Yarra’s aged care homes. Urban Campfire champions the work of artists who exist outside the mainstream and who, without these exhibitions, might never have their work reach an audience alongside professional and emerging artists. The program also includes a range of workshops at locations throughout Yarra. Urban Campfire has operated for over 17 years in the City of Yarra and is a partnership between the Neighbourhood Justice Centre and Belgium Avenue Neighbourhood House.
